Lenovo ThinkVision P44W Monitor Hands-On: Multi-Display Replacement

Lenovo's new ThinkVision P44w monitor is designed for professionals who typically have multi-display work setups, eliminating the need for multiple monitors by offering a huge 43.4-inch display with a 32:10 aspect ratio. The P44w is the equivalent of two 24-inch monitors, and it features dual integrated USB-C ports for two video inputs.

Multiple displays are often cited as a way to increase productivity, but there is a downside: bezels between the displays and the visual clutter that comes with multiple display stands on the desk surface. That's where single, larger monitors like the ThinkVision P44w comes in.

Lenovo's new display has a 3840 x 1200 resolution and support for picture-by-picture from dual video sources. The monitor is joined by smart desktop management software that allows the user to create different display regions and multiple monitor configurations, according to the company.

The ThinkVision P44w has 450 nit peak brightness and is VESA Certified DisplayHDR 400, this resulting in a high level of color accuracy and enhanced contrast. The stand features tilt, lift, and swivel, there's AMD FreeSync, a Push n Push USB Hub, Smart Power for charging up to two devices at once, and TÜV Eye Comfort certification against eye strain.

The monitor is compatible with a detachable Harman Kardon powered speaker, plus there's very slim bezels. Ports are generous, and include a pair of HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, USB-C Gen 1 and Gen 2, four USB 3.0 ports on the USB hub, and audio out. The Lenovo ThinkVision P44w Monitor will be available in April for $1,299.99 USD.
