Lenovo TAB3 8 Plus Details Leak Out
These years major mobile device events might already be over, but manufacturers are always churning out products all year round. And while Lenovo already has a rather curious, even enticing, Android tablet revealed at IFA last month, it hasn't forgotten consumers that may want something less eccentric, not to mention less expensive. Following up on MWC 2016's TAB3 8 slate, a certain TAB3 8 Plus has just been sighted, with specs that border the middle and high ends of the tablet market, probably scheduled to roll out before 2016 ends.
Last February, Lenovo introduced three tablets as part of its new TAB3 lineup. One of those was the Lenovo TAB3 8, which sat nicely between the entry level TAB3 7 and the "business class" TAB3 10 Business. This new model, however, trumps them all, even the supposedly higher end 10-inch tablet.
Based on the leaked specs, the Lenovo TAB3 8 Plus will feature a 8-inch screen, of course, with a 1920x1200 pixel resolution, giving it a wide 16:10 aspect ratio. It will be powered by a 2.0 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, assisted by 3 GB of RAM. Storage options will reportedly go from 16 to 32 to 64, and can still be supplemented with a microSD card.
Feature-wise, there isn't going to be much to go for, with an 8 megapixel camera on the back and 5 megapixels on the front. There will be a 4,250 mAh battery inside, which may actually be a tad low for tablets these days. The TAB3 8 Plus will run Android 6.0 out of the box, which supports a late 2016 launch date theory.
Lenovo's TAB line usually isn't as spectacular as its Android Yoga tablets, but what they lack in pizzazz they usually make up for in price. Although there is no word yet on how much the Lenovo TAB3 8 Plus will cost, the TAB3 10 Business earlier this year went for $299 at the highest, just for a frame of reference.
