Kindle Breaks Sales Record During November
Among some of the most important things that the world may never know are exactly how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie pop and exactly how many Kindles Amazon is selling. Amazon won't offer a firm number of units sold but has announced that the Kindle has broken its sales record.Amazon reports that the Kindle has broken its record for the number of units sold in a single month. The interesting part of the announcement is that Amazon says the sales record for the Kindle was broken before the expected Cyber Monday rush set in today. Last week the Kindle received a firmware update that allowed 85% more battery life with wireless on.
"Kindle is a great gift for anyone who loves to read and it's flying off the shelves faster than any other product Amazon sells," said Ian Freed, Vice President, Amazon Kindle. "We're seeing lots of people buying from one to a handful of Kindles as gifts for friends or family, as well as many businesses and other organizations buying Kindles in large quantities for their employees or customers."
