Jaguar I-PACE Concept Gallery
Jaguar is aiming for a half-and-half split of its range between electrification and gasoline, and we're seeing the first signs of that at the LA Auto Show 2016. The Jaguar I-PACE Concept sees the automaker craft its own electric drivetrain and battery system, for a striking SUV/crossover-sized car that can do 0-60 mph in 4.0 seconds.
Unlike most concept cars, however, written off by their creators as design studies or flights of general fancy, Jaguar has some bold intentions for the I-PACE Concept. While the crossover you see here may not quite be ready for the road, it'll spawn a production version set for release in 2018.
We'll see that care in late 2017, the automaker says, with a global launch soon after. Beyond that? Jaguar is playing its cards close to its chest, though it seems unlikely that it'll be able to resist doing more with its homegrown platform.
