iPhone 2018 Release Date And Pre-Order Leaked
The new iPhone 2018 series – likely iPhone X Plus and others – had a few dates leaked this morning. According to sources in Germany, mobile service providers are planning on working with iPhone 2018 pre-orders on September 14th, 2018. This falls right in line with Apple's yearly iPhone event, an event which last year took place on September 12th.
Leaks earlier this year suggested that the 2018 lineup for Apple's iPhone would include three models. That'd include a same or slightly-tweaked iPhone X with 5.8-inch display, an iPhone X Plus with 6.5-inch display, and a third device. The first two devices would have OLED displays like the original iPhone X.
The third device was tipped to have a 6.1-inch display with a design similar to that of the iPhone X. This device would have a TFT LCD display – that's technology similar to that of the iPhone 8 and previous iPhones. This third model would have a larger display than the iPhone X, but would be less expensive, owing largely to the slightly lower-resolution LCD panel.
If Apple does indeed hold an iPhone event in September, like they've done for the past few years, it's highly likely pre-orders will appear soon after. If the sources noted by Macerkopf are accurate, there'd be no shock whatsoever in the presumed way of things. The way of the force. The way things have been each year for the past several years in iPhone reveals and iPhone releases.
The only difference here is how the iPhone X was handled last year VS how the new iPhones will be handled this year. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus were delivered a short time after reveal in 2017, while the iPhone X took a couple extra weeks. We're expecting all devices to come a short time after pre-release for the set begins in 2018.
If all goes as expected, Apple will have their annual iPhone event on the 11th of September, 2018. If so, we'll expect the device(s) to be available to the general public on September 21st, 2018.
We're expecting preorders to begin on around the 14th of 2018. Germany might start pre-order ordering on the 12th, though that'd be sorta weird if they did. Expecting the same sort of scheduling we've seen over the past few years, the Friday following the Tuesday event would mean a September 14th, 2018 pre-order and a September 21st release date.
