iPhone 11 Pro Brings Triple Cameras And Big Battery Boost

The iPhone 11 Pro was revealed as Apple's higher-tier hero smartphone this afternoon at Apple's main mobile event. Apple's Phil Schiller suggested that this smartphone will be the "best product made, even if you're not a pro." The iPhone 11 Pro will be released with a 5.8-inch display, while the iPhone 11 Pro Max will have a 6.5-inch display, both with Super Retina Display-branded OLED panels.

iPhone 11 Pro's display has what Apple calls "Super Retina XDR" display technology. This includes 2-million to 1 contrast, 1200nits of brightness, and wide color gamut. Once again we've got an oleophobic coating, on the glass, Haptic Touch, Tap to wake, and HDR capabilities. This device (the non-Max's) display panel sports 458-pixels per inch.

They've once again (like the non-Pro) added an A13 Bionic processor under the hood. Sri Santhanam, VP of silicon engineering at Apple, suggests that "iPhone 11 Pro is the best machine learning platform in any smartphone."

The iPhone 11 Pro's battery will last "4 hours more than iPhone Xs" according to Apple. Apple suggests that this number is ramped up to 5 extra hours when comparing iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone Xs Max. These devices work with Fast Charge with a 18w adapter in the box.

The iPhone 11 Pro has an array of three cameras at its back with LED flash and sensors in the mix. These cameras include 12MP, 12MP, and 12MP – all three the same amount of megapixels, with very different abilities.

There's a wide-angle lens with f/1.8 lens, ultrawide with 120-degree field of view and f/2.0, and a telephoto camera with f/2.4 and 52mm focal length. Both the wide and the telephoto cameras have OIS. See more info on the cameras in the images in the gallery above!

The iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max will be made available in a number of color combinations. Midnight Green, Space Gray, Silver/White, and Gold will be available right out the gate. This device will be available with several different configurations alongside the iPhone 11 (non-Pro) this month.

Stay tuned as we get first impressions and hands-on with these devices soon. We'll also be taking a peek at the iPhone 11, the new Apple Watch, and the newest iPad too!
