IdeaPad U110 On Sale Now
As the countdown to the Lenovo IdeaPad U110 continues, we've finally got the full spec-list and the landing page for orders. Priced at $1,899, it confirms that the ultraportable will not have an internal optical drive but will instead ship with an external, USB DVD burner. It also suggests how Lenovo themselves see the U110 differentiating from their own ThinkPad X300: the IdeaPad will be "focused to the consumer" and, at least at first, have a normal 120GB 4,200rpm PATA hard-drive compared to the X300's SSD.
At first, Lenovo will be offering a single configuration of the U110, with the only choice being a red or black lid section. Both the 4-cell and 7-cell batteries will be included.
Battery life is rated at around 8hrs with both the 4-cell Li-Ion plus the 7-cell Li-Ion. On their own, the 4-cell manages approximately 2hrs, the 7-cell approximately 6hrs. Shipping times for the red model are quoted as 3-5 days, while the black says 2-3 weeks for availability. Make sure to check out the video of the IdeaPad U110 in action in our earlier post!
