Hyundai And Cosworth Prepping Slick Genesis Coupe Concept For SEMA
Hyundai and Cosworth have announced that they are teaming up to develop a very cool concept car for the SEMA show. The car is called the Cosworth Genesis Racing Series (CGRS). The car is painted an eye-catching Cosworth satin/gloss blue color and has a number of body modifications.
Unlike many concept or show cars, the body modifications in this case are tasteful. The car has a full front replacement bumper with integrated carbon fiber brake ducts, carbon fiber front splitter, and carbon fiber side skirt lips. It also features a carbon fiber diffuser, integrated trunk spoiler, special wheels, and special logos and graphics. All of the carbon fiber parts and wheels are from Cosworth.
Inside the car is a bunch of other Cosworth style accessories, including a special steering wheel, shift knob, pedals, shift boot, two-tone sport seats, and a two-tone interior treatment. The concept isn't all about looks; the engine is also massaged to produce more power. The 3.8 L V6 produces 389 hp and 325 pound-foot of torque.
Cosworth also adds a special big brake system to help stop the car on the racetrack or the street and a performance suspension system for better handling. Cosworth claims that while the car is tuned for the racetrack, it is perfectly drivable on the streets to and from work, every day. I expect that many of these parts will eventually make their way to the aftermarket, if they're not already available.
