Hearthstone Witchwood: Cards And Expansion Details

Hearthstone's first of three expansions for the year 2018 was revealed as THE WITCHWOOD. This is the first of the expansions that'll be sent out during the newest year in Hearthstone, the Year of the Raven. In this expansion we'll find our fair share of odds and ends, glorious comedic relief, and the occasional game-changing feature addition.

This new set will be released in the month of April. As such, we're expecting some jokes inside – just so long as it's released on the first. Otherwise we hope there'll be absolutely no comedy whatsoever. This new set will contain 135 new cards, new cards that Blizzard calls "hair-raising." This new set will contain King Genn Greymane, Gilneas, and worgens. And there's a new game table as well – super pretty neato.

This new expansion will add a single-player experience to the game. This new single-player experience will be called Monster Hunts. Inside this se hunts, users will enter The Witchwood "to stamp out the evils that lurk within." Monster Hunts were announced to be coming 2-weeks after The Witchwood is released.

Above you'll see some of the first cards and card-backs that'll be released in this expansion. See if you can pick out which ones will be game-changing, and which will be completely bonkers useless! There's no one right answer!

"To help them survive the night, players can draw on an arsenal of new tricks, including the eerie new Echo keyword," said a Blizzard representative. "Cards with Echo can be played over and over again, allowing players to call upon a minion or cast a spell multiple times in a turn as long as they have enough mana. In addition, crafty deck-builders can employ powerful minions that challenge them to use only odd- or even-cost cards in exchange for a potent advantage."

This update for Hearthstone will feature some of the same elements as past sets. That is – a deal right from the start. Those that purchase a 50-pack bundle will receive 20 "bonus packs" as well as a "haunting" new card back. This new addition to the game will be released in the month of April – when, exactly, we'll just have to wait and see. That bundle'll cost you a cool $50, if you're all about it.

Above you'll see a set of cards that'll be cycling out when this new set cycles in – this comes from Reddit's StanCifka. This is the start of the Year of the Raven, and it's going to be Highly Significant for some players. Extremely highly. Goodbye Barnes! I love you man!
