Google Play, Maps Make It Easier To Find Videos, Places
The problem with having a wealth of information at your fingertips is that, when it comes time to find a single piece of information, you have a needle in a haystack problem. Even more problematic when what you're looking for isn't even in English. In those cases, having a good search and retrieval system is just as important. Google, the king of search, is taking things one step further to save you time by suggesting when and where you can find things. In 39 languages even.
Streaming is all the rage these days, but keeping track of what is showing when and where can be a bit of a chore. The Google Play Movies & TV app now does the work for you and instantly shows you where you can buy or stream a show. That is if the show is in one of the initial list of streaming apps, including ABC, CBS, FOX NOW, NBC, Hulu, HBO NOW, HBO Go, Showtime, Amazon Prime Video, Disney Now, HGTV, BET Now, Comedy Central, with more to come.
Not sure what to watch search for in the first place? Google's got your back, too. Simply select a genre and narrow your search down to a few categories with simple taps. And in case you don't like what you ended up watching, you can give it a thumbs down so Google will know the kind of things not to show you next time.
Searching for places can sometimes be just as tough as searching for movies, especially when you're more familiar with places in the local language. While Google Maps can be a treasure trove of information, it can be biased towards just a few popular languages, especially English. The world is, of course, much larger than that and Google is now expanding Google Maps' capabilities to embrace 39 languages, including Afrikaans, Albanian, Amharic, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Bosnian, Burmese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Estonian, Filipino, Finnish, Georgian, Hebrew, Icelandic, Indonesian, Kazakh, Khmer, Kyrgyz, Lao, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Malay, Mongolian, Norwegian, Persian, Romanian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Swahili, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Uzbek, Vietnamese, and Zulu.
