Giant X-Wing Rocket Goes Up In Smoke
Remember that really cool 21-foot-long X-wing replica that I showed you last week? As promised, it was launched over the weekend, and it wasn't pretty. It's as if millions of Star Wars geeks cried out in horror, then were suddenly silenced.
The rocket managed to stay in the air for roughly 2 seconds before all hell broke loose. It was shot straight up, then it suddenly arced to the right where it proceeded to completely fall apart.
I can't say that I'm surprised really. While it looked rather cool, it didn't appear to be nearly as sturdy as it should have been. I'm no rocket scientist, but I'm thinking you'd need to use stronger material if you're going to strap four L class rockets to something. Thankfully, they weren't expecting it to come down in one piece, so it wasn't a huge shock to them either.
