Gearbox Partially Fixes Borderlands 2 Compatibility Pack Issues On Xbox 360
The latest DLC for Borderlands 2, Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt, launched earlier this week, giving fans a new line of quests to complete and a new area to explore. This is the third DLC pack released for the game in nearly as many months, but all was not well after Hammerlock launched. Gearbox has been releasing compatibility packs alongside the additional Borderlands 2 content so players who don't buy can still play with those who did, but the latest compatibility pack has been causing some major headaches for players.
As it turns out, some players on Xbox 360 couldn't download the compatibility pack, and therefore couldn't play with friends who bought the DLC. That's a pretty big issue if you have friends who picked up the Borderlands 2 season pass (as many did) and had the DLC from day one, but thankfully it seems that Gearbox has at least partially fixed the issue. Gearbox's support website says that the compatibility pack is downloading properly for some players, and that the company is still working with Microsoft to make sure the issue is squashed once and for all.
In the meantime, if you're one of the folks still having issues downloading the compatibility pack, Gearbox recommends going to Xbox.com and adding the pack to your downloads queue from there. If the issues still remain after trying that, then Gearbox wants you to "submit a request for additional troubleshooting help." Gearbox didn't say when the problem will be fixed for everyone, but it sounds like the company is making some real progress, so it shouldn't be too much longer.
Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt is the third of four planned DLC packs for Borderlands 2. The first three DLC offerings in the Borderlands 2 season pass have been released in rather quick succession, but so far, we haven't seen the level cap increase so many players have been asking for. Gearbox says that level cap increase should be coming soon, so sit tight Borderlands 2 players.
