Fortnite Bug Makes Certain Common Skins Immune To Junk Rifts
Another Fornite bug has been discovered that grants players a slightly indestructible nature. A video recently highlighted the issue, revealing that certain game skins — the ones available to literally every single player — are immune from damage issued by certain weapons, including ones that ordinarily cause devastating damage.
The discovery was made by Fortnite streamer DramaLlamaNite; in the video below, he shows a default skin being subjected to Junk Rift weapons but not suffering any damage from them. A shot with a firearm still caused damage to the default, meaning the immunity isn't available across all in-game items.
The Junk Rift performed as expected, dropping large items and causing massive damage to the large Dusty Depot structures. The dropped items appeared to make contact with the default player, yet no damage was registered. The player was ultimately left alone by the surprised streamer.
The full scope of the bug isn't clear at this time -- the default skin clearly wasn't immune to all damage, so it's unclear which weapons may not be able to injure these players. Assuming the bug can be replicated (Epic hasn't acknowledged it as an official issue yet), players may be at a major advantage when playing as a default.
Assuming this does prove to be a widespread bug preventing damage from certain weapons, it's likely Epic will push out a fix quickly. Until that time comes, however, don't be surprised if you see a lot of players running around in default skin options.
