Fiat Announces New 500L And 500L Trekking For North America
If you're a fan of the Fiat 500, Fiat has announced the two new cars that are headed to North America. The new vehicles include the all-new 500L and the new 500L Trekking. The standard 500L is a longer version of the iconic Fiat 500 adding two more doors allowing for comfortable accommodations for five passengers.
The 500L offers passengers 26 inches more length and 6 inches more height and width than normal 500 cars. Fiat says that the extra space allows the vehicle to deliver an EPA Large Car size interior promising best in class headroom, front legroom, and 42% more interior space than the standard 500. The vehicle will be powered by 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo engine producing 160 hp.
The 500L models will be available with two 6 speed transmission offerings. The 500L Trekking is described as a more adventurous version of the normal 500L. The Trekking version gets a two-tone interior, unique front and rear fascias, flared wheel arches, and larger 17-inch wheels.
Fiat says the larger wheels are intended to offer a hint at the urban utility vehicles handling capabilities. The interior will be a black/brown combination, this version of the car will have an all-new Uconnect 5.0 system with a five-inch touchscreen interface, and Bluetooth hands-free calling and streaming audio capability. Pricing and availability on both vehicles is unknown.
