Ferrari 488 Pista Gallery

If there's one thing Ferrari loves, it's taking race car technology and injecting it into its road cars. Witness, then, the Ferrari 488 Pista, the lovechild of a V8 production car with the lessons learned from the Italian automaker's time in GTE racing. It boils down to two things: more power, and less weight.

So, there's a re-tuned version of Ferrari's twin-turbocharged V8. Now mustering 711 horsepower and 568 lb-ft. of torque, it's the most powerful version of a V8 engine the company has had in its production cars to-date. It'll push the 488 Pista from 0-62 mph in 2.85 seconds, and on to a top speed of more than 211 mph.

Meanwhile weight is down considerably over the 488 GTB, while downforce is up by 20-percent. That's courtesy of changes like the F1-inspired scoop on the front hood, and a new spoiler design at the rear. Don't expect to see many of these striped monsters on the road, mind.
