Drone Flies Snowboarder Into The Air
A new video has turned up that shows a massive drone taking a snowboarder up and down the ski slopes and eventually up into the air. The video is one of those things that you watch and it's hard to believe that it's real. Then you look at the collaborator on the video and see that it's PrankvsPrank and it makes you question the video that much more.
The dude who hangs under the drone has to be nervous about the whole thing. The drone sounds like a monster when it's in use and the builders say it took about a year to build. I think in some scenes you can see a strap holding him to the drone in addition to the tow rope he is holding.
The behind the scenes video shows the drone pulling the snowboarder. I wonder exactly how much thrust that drone puts out and how badly it would chop you up if the rotors hit skin since they aren't shrouded at all. The video was shot in Finland.
At one point in the video it the guy says that the batteries in the drone froze and it wouldn't fly. After watching the behind the scenes video the whole thing looks real and has Samsung as a partner for the tech side of things. I'd like a behind the scenes video on how they built the drone. This reminds me a lot of the Dronesurfing video we saw back in September.
