Dragon Age Reveal Teased For Next Month
With just under three months left to go before Anthem launches, BioWare certainly has a lot of intense work ahead of it. Anthem, however, isn't the only project in the works over at BioWare, and it looks like we'll be finding out about a new one soon. The company has started teasing something new for the Dragon Age series, and it says we'll learn what it is at some point in December.
As with any good tease, BioWare stops and end there. Dragon Age fans will have to sit tight for more details, which might be difficult given the four-year gap between the last game and whatever this secret project is.
BioWare general manager Casey Hudson teased this new project in the company's November update. Though the update mostly focuses on where BioWare is at with Anthem – which is launching a closed alpha at the beginning of next month – Hudson did take some time to talk about other franchises.
"If you've been following these blogs, or myself and Mark Darrah on Twitter, you know we're also working on some secret Dragon Age stuff," Hudson wrote, "Dragon Age is an incredibly important franchise in our studio, and we're excited to continue its legacy. Look for more on this in the coming month (though I won't tell you where to look...)."
Obviously, BioWare's reveal could come at any point in December, but one place where it has at least a decent chance of happening is at the Game Awards. The Game Awards will be airing on Thursday, December 6 – just under a week for now – and the show typically attracts a number of new game reveals.
So, does that mean Dragon Age 4? It seems like that has to be the project BioWare has been working on, but we may also see something like a remaster of the first game in the series. Considering that BioWare is currently dumping a lot of resources into Anthem, a remaster of the original Dragon Age would make sense, and it would serve as an appetizer for a true-to-form sequel that's a little further down the road.
We'll just have to wait and see what BioWare has up its sleeve. We'll be keeping an eye out for whatever Dragon Age reveal is coming up next month, so stay tuned for more.
