Destiny 2 PC Specs And Beta Dates Are Here

Given the somewhat unexpected success of Bungie's first major franchise outside of Halo, a lot of attention is being poured on Destiny 2, waiting whether it will rise up to the challenge or fall flat. The beta for consoles showed promise but also revealed some rather hard bugs that Bungie promises to iron out before launch. The beta testing, however, isn't over yet. If you're a PC gamer, it hasn't even begun. The time is coming, however, and Bungie is giving out information to make sure you're ready for it.

There will technically only be four days for Destiny 2 PC players to get into the beta. But only if you got into early access. If not, you only have three days to enjoy the game, bugs and all. Destiny 2 PC beta starts on August 28 for Early Access and on the 29 for the public. It all ends, however on August 31.

That practically gives you just a month to make sure your PC has what it takes to join in on the fun. Fortunately, it's not actually that much. For the most minimum specs, yo can make do with an Intel Core i3-3250 or AMD FX 4350 CPU and a GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 7850 graphics card, and 6 GB of RAM. But if you really want to follow what Bungie recommends, you'll aim for a Core i5-2400 or Ryzen R5 1600X, GeForce GTX 970 or Radeon R9 390, and 8 GB of RAM.

Not that high right? You might be able to get away with even slightly lower specs if you're just upgrading rather than building a new rig. In this case, the minimum requirement is at least an Intel Pentium G4560 and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 with 2 GB VRAM. It's recommended, however, to get at least a Core i5-7400 and a GeForce GTX 1060 with 6 GB VRAM.

The one caveat to all of this is that this is all just for the beta. Actual final system requirements will be announced before the 24th October launch, so it might be wiser to hold off on building or even upgrading if your current box can handle it for just 3-4 days. Bungie promises to share more tips on how to best experience the beta on PCs in the coming weeks.
