What You'll Need For Deadpool Before You See It

If you're about to watch the 2016 film Deadpool, you're going to need to know a few things. First, this is the first time our hero Wade Winston Wilson will grace the silver screen with an accurate portrayal of his life force. Because of this, you're going to need to bring some earmuffs for your children. Or better yet, don't bring your children at all! This is a rated-R movie, and most certainly not something you're going to want to bend the rules on for your 5-year-old daughter or son who promises they'll never repeat any of the bad words they hear.

You're going to need this tiny guide to prepare yourself. Really, you just need a movie ticket. But supposing you want to go the extra mile – we've got the full super simple guide for you right here.

First, the wallpapers. Below you'll find a collection of large image files you can download to stick to your smartphone. That's what you're likely looking at this article with, anyway. These wallpapers stick just as well anywhere else, too.

Next, you're going to need to know that Rob Liefeld did not create Deadpool out of thin air like he suggests in this io9 article. He was inspired by a character in the DC Comics universe called Deathstroke, whose name is Slade Wilson. Deadpool is Wade Wilson.

Deadpool first appeared in the 98th issue of The New Mutants, and was revealed alongside the characters Domino and Gideon – so don't be surprised when you find easter eggs tipping both in the film.

You'll also want to remember that this is just the beginning. If the response we've seen already is any indicator of the interest the public has in Deadpool, we'll see that X-Men x Deadpool crossover sooner than later. And an X-Force movie sooner still!
