Bose SoundSport Free Earbuds Want You To Ditch Your AirPods

Bose is looking to break into the realm of the "truly wireless" today by introducing its new SoundSport Free earbuds. Focused directly at people who need a pair of wireless headphones for workouts, the SoundSport Free come with a number of exercise-friendly features, such as water and sweat resistance. They also boast an antenna that claims to keep a strong connection to your device, no matter where it happens to be.

As with most Bluetooth earbuds and headphones, the range for the SoundSport Free tops out at around 30 feet. However, Bose says that the antenna is strong enough to prevent interruption or popping regardless of where your phone is, whether its in your pocket or gym bag. Each earbud weighs in at 0.35 ounces, but nevertheless, they come packing a "miniature acoustic package" that features a Bose digital signal processor and volume EQ.

The lithium ion batteries packed in these earbuds can last for up to 5 hours, but the SoundSport Free also ship with a charging case that, when charged up itself, can provide 10 more hours of battery life. Controls on the right earbud allow you to make calls or pull up your phone's AI assistant, and compatibility with the Bose Connect App means that you can find your headphones through "Find My Buds" in the event that you misplace them.

All in all, the SoundSport Free seem like very capable wireless earbuds, especially for those who have problems with their earbuds falling out as they workout. The SoundSport Free uses Bose's own StayHear+ Sport tips to keep them in place, hopefully keeping them secure no matter how vigorous your workout gets.

The SoundSport Free will available in two different colors: triple black and midnight blue with yellow citron accents. Pre-orders for the triple black variant are going live today, with an expected release coming up next month. Midnight blue, on the other hand, will be available before the year is out, but there's no pre-order date listed just yet. Regardless of the variant you go with, the SoundSport Free earbuds will cost $249.95.
