Bizarre Toyota Has Two Motors, Two Front Ends
The bizarre car that you see here started life as two different Toyota Limbo cars. The builder is a man called Roni Gunawan from Indonesia. He took the two cars and cut them in half and then reconnected them behind the driver seat. The result is a car with two steering wheels, four front seats, two hoods and two engines.
The only thing that the two cobbled together cars shares is a single fuel tank. The car can be driven at the same time by two different drivers. It would make it quite easy to get in and out of a parking spot. The builder says that it took six months to build the car.
The man says that he wanted to design something unique and that it took ten people to cut the two cars in half and weld them both back together. Unfortunately for the builder, after only being on the road for a few hours it was seized by police for breaking the law.
Indonesian authorities say that the car violated traffic rules in the country. One of the rules that the vehicle violates was a requirement that all cars have proper safety signals. The car also lacks reverse lights.
Finally, the authorities say that the dimensions of the vehicle aren't appropriate. There is no indication of how much the build might have cost to build. The police returned the car to the man after he wrote a letter promising he won't drive it on the road again.
