Bentley EXP 100 GT Gallery
When it's your 100th birthday, it's only customary to get yourself a gift. That's just what Bentley has done with the EXP 100 GT, the automaker's latest concept car, and a roadmap for the technologies Bentley believes will be ready by 2035. That includes autonomous driving, yes, but with some grand tourer action in there as well.
So, the EXP 100 GT is described as an "autonomous car with optional driving": Bentley envisages you allowing the AI to take control of the dull portions of the drive, and then have the steering wheel extend so that you can handle the more entertaining corners. Fully electric, the car uses four motors, one dedicated to each wheel. Bentley envisages as much as 435 miles of range on a charge.
Inside, the cabin can shift to reflect the passenger's needs, converting from a luxurious two-seater to a four-seater. Bentley has explored new materials, too, including 5,000 year old wood reclaimed from peat bogs, leatherette made from byproducts of the wine industry, and textured woven cotton laced with electronics.
