Baby Groot Toy Is Officially Licensed And Coming Soon

We'll kick things off by saying that if you still haven't seen Guardians of the Galaxy, there's a wee tidbit here that some would consider a spoiler. If you're okay with that, then keep reading. You'll recall we've talked about a dancing Baby Groot toy since the movie's launch, which many have clamored for, spurring Funko to announce a toy that fit the bill. Now Mashable is reporting an officially licensed toy is inbound, and that it'll be arriving in time for the holiday season.

In the Guardians movie, viewers are blessed with a clip of Groot as a baby dancing to a Jackson 5 song. This spurred demand for such an adorable dancing toy, the first rumbles of which started appearing on Twitter. Marvel's Executive Editorial Director Ryan Penagos had tweeted that discussions about such a toy had been happening for months, but no promises.

As with all things, the demand caused unofficial toys of dancing baby Groot to pop up, some homemade, others from companies. All those can finally be put aside, however, as both Marvel and KIDdesigns have revealed that an officially licensed version is inbound.

The toy will be priced at $14.99 USD, and will include a version of the Jackson 5 song "I Want You Back" to which the toy will dance. The toy will be released in December sometime, though when exactly hasn't been stated — only that, obviously, it will be before Christmas.
