Awesome musical instruments in crazy housings

I think in a previous life I was a magpie, given my uncontrollable attraction to shiny things. So you can perhaps imagine my wide-eyed, moist-bottomed joy on seeing these insanely delicious musical instruments that have been packaged in the most unusual, retro Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea style casings by a Flickr user called, appropriately, maddscientist39110.

The doohickey above produces a variety of electronic sounds and percussion, while the one below is a variation on the theremin that traverses the C major scale as you approach the aerial. maddscientist39110, whose real name is Mike Ford, uses all sorts of repurposed boxes, pipes, switches, knobs and tubes to house his peculiar music makers.

I had immense difficulty picking out just a couple for this post; you really really want to go and have a look at the rest.
