  • Kristen grew up working on old Chevy Novas with her sailor of a father, teaching her both the arts of colorful swearing and auto mechanics.
  • She married a professional mechanic of over 10 years, making her even nerdier about the technical workings of vehicles from all walks of life.
  • Loving cars as much as she loves the weekends, she can turn any conversation (literally any conversation) to be about cars.

Experience

Kristen started writing about cars as a freelance writer for Internet Brands Automotive Groups in 2018 while a junior in college. Between starting the automotive column for her school newspaper and delving deeper into the automotive industry, it was a career that felt like home. Now, she has by-lines for TFLCar, US News and World Report, Team Valvoline, and more. In college, she has won awards for her automotive stories, photos and spreads. After working at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for two years, motorsports quickly became another passion for her.

Education

At CSU Monterey Bay, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Media Studies — making her knowledgeable in journalism ethics, media, and photography.
