Apple Pay Coming Monday, Has 500 Additional Banks
At Apple's event today, there is a lot going on, and we're already getting a lot of good news. On stage, Tim cook says Apple Pay is coming Monday, and that the company believes their mobile payment system will be "profound", and "huge". To that end, Apple is announcing they've signed up 500 additional banks, and have support of all major networks in using their payment system. You'll also get to use it soon, maybe sooner than you thought (if you've got an iPhone 6, obviously).
With those added 500 banks signed up, Apple says they'll all be on board by early 2015. Some will start supporting Apple Pay later this year, but all 500 should be shored up and on board by "early 2015".
So when can you use Apple Pay? Monday! Tim Cook says Apple Pay will launch Monday, which means — you guessed it — iOS 8.1 should be rolling out then, too!
We've also heard about several retailers like Walgreens and Panera adopting Apple Pay, which is having ripple effects for others like Google Wallet. Starting Monday, the mobile payment system is going to get hot, so get your cards loaded into Apple Pay asap!
