Android Wear 2.0 Arrives On More Smartwatches After Brief Delay
If you were eagerly awaiting the release of Android Wear 2.0 this week you were probably met with disappointment unless you happened to own one of three specific smartwatch models. Google revealed on Friday that it needed to delay the update rollout — yet again — due to the last-minute discovery of a bug. Fortunately the wait this time is a short one, as Android Wear 2.0 is now hitting more wearables.
Exact details on the bug weren't revealed, but it appears it wasn't a critical issue. The six additional smartwatches receiving Wear 2.0 include the Polar M600, Fossil Q Wander, Fossil Q Marshal, Nixon Mission, Michael Cors Access Dylan, and Michael Cors Access Bradshaw.
These join the first three devices to get the update; the Fossil Q Founder, TAG Heuer Connected, and Casio Smart Outdoor Watch WSD-F10.
This makes a total of 9 watches eligible to update, out of a total of 19 devices that will be receiving Android Wear 2.0. Along with being delayed since December of last year, part of the biggest hassle with Wear 2.0 is that it won't be coming to a number of older watch models, including the original LG G Watch, original Moto 360, and Samsung Gear Live. Owners of these devices who want to use the new software will sadly have to upgrade to a newer smartwatch.
