3D TV Could Become Mainstream Thanks To Walmart

We're not getting away from the 3D revolution any time soon. In fact, it's looking more and more like everyone is ready to just accept the technology into their living rooms. And when that starts happening, it's all down hill from there. Then again, if it starts becoming wildly popular, maybe we won't have to pay ridiculous prices at the theaters anymore. We can dream, right? Thanks to Walmart, we are going to see a huge incline in the desire to own a 3D TV. Mostly because it will be affordable.

At least, that's the plan. Walmart's die-hard intent to create the "best prices" for its customers has lead for many to believe that if Walmart does indeed start selling 3D TVs by this holiday season, that the overhead, premium costs, and general perception of the technology could be altered. In a good way. According to the rumor, select Walmarts across the country are planning to start selling 3D TVs in their electronics department as soon as this holiday season. Perfect timing for that Christmas shopping.

The big problem with 3D TV so far, has been the price. At this point in time, the technology is still considered a novelty or fad, so paying upwards of $2,000 just isn't the thing to do. But, we can expect that if Walmart gets their hands on 3D sets, then those are going to go for practically a steal, compared to other retailers. That may be mostly because they won't be all the brands, or even a brand you've been interested in, but it's a good start nonetheless. If they become mainstream enough, the prices will start to go down. Is anyone interested in 3D TV out there? Let us know what you think.
