2022 Toyota Corolla Cross Gallery

Toyota's Corolla is growing up, with the new 2022 Corolla Cross adding a crossover version. Based on the same platform as the regular Corolla sedan, the crossover gets 8.1-inches of ground clearance. It also can tow up to 1,500 pounds.

The standard engine is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas unit, with a CVT that uses a physical first gear. We've seen that on the Corolla S before, adding some extra perkiness from a standing-start. Toyota will have FWD and AWD versions, and is predicting up to 32 mpg combined on the EPA's economy cycles.

Inside, there's a 60/40 split rear bench and up to 25.5 cu-ft of cargo space depending on drivetrain. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard. It'll arrive in the US later in 2021.
