2021 Porsche 911 Targa 4 Gallery

Not quite a coupe, and not quite a cabrio, the Porsche 911 Targa sits somewhere in between. There's no denying its party trick bests both its 911 siblings for jaw-dropping drama, mind. Hit the button and, in the space of 19 seconds, the rear glass and metal hinges back, the fabric roof panel pivots out of the way, and you're suddenly driving a convertible.

In 2021 911 Targa 4 form, there's a 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six with 379 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque. 0-60 mph comes in 4.0 seconds, and the top speed is 179 mph. An eight-speed PDK automatic transmission is standard, as is all-wheel drive.

Outside, it's the handsome and evolved 911 we know and love; inside, a new infotainment system takes pride of place in a cleaner, more straightforward dashboard. The party trick is the clever roof, but the reason you'll want the keys long-term is how well the 911 Targa 4 straddles grand-tourer and sports car. Expect to pay upward of $119,300 (plus $1,350 destination) for the privilege.
