Nissan's GT-R is no spring chicken, but as tenacious coupes go there's still plenty to like. Affectionately nicknamed "Godzilla," the GT-R's primary talents remain straight line speed and cornering capabilities. In the GT-R Premium that means a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 good for 565 horsepower and 467 lb-ft of torque. Opt for the NISMO and you get 600 horsepower and 481 lb-ft.

As for the corners, there standard all-wheel drive and a mechanical limited-slip rear differential keep things in check. The GT-R can push 100-percent of its power to the rear axle if required, or up to 50-percent to the front, all adjusted depending on how you're driving and the traction needs. Different drive modes allow you to adjust how the Nissan plays out its torque.

Inside, the exterior's still-dramatic looks don't really carry over. Indeed the cabin feels fairly bland, although you get leather as standard and comfortable sports seats. With a $113,540 (plus $1,795 destination) starting price that may leave some potential owners cold, but there's no denying that Nissan's coupe still has charm when it comes to the performance essentials.
