2021 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 SUV Gallery
When you're billing your SUV as the "S-Class" of its category you can't do things by halves. That goes some way to explaining the varied excesses of the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 SUV, the most potent of the range. If you demand 603 hp from your seven seater, you've come to the right place.
The AMG-made 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine is good for 603 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. Factor in EQ Boost, and you're looking at a further 21 hp and 184 lb-ft more when required. Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive is standard, with a rear-wheel bias, as is a 9-speed transmission. Air suspension and active ride control are standard, too.
Inside, there's color-changing ambient lighting, a choice of six or seven seats, plenty of leather, and a Burmester surround sound audio system. The Executive Rear Seat Package adds a center console for the second row, with its own MBUX tablet. Expect the new AMG SUV to arrive in the US in mid-2020.
