2020 Genesis G90 Gets A Mid-Cycle Refresh
Genesis has unveiled the 2020 G90 sedan at the LA Auto Show. The 2020 G90 gets what Genesis calls new-car-level design changes on the exterior and interior. Genesis says the 2020 G90 formally introduces the next evolution of the Genesis signature design language.G-Matrix is a Genesis design hallmark that is inspired by light reflecting from an illuminated diamond and has been applied to the headlights and taillights. G90's optional 19-inch wheels get the G-Matrix pattern along with sound absorption tech to reduce tire noise.
A 12.3-inch display navigation system offers over-the-air wireless updates for maps and software, a first for the Genesis brand. The big screen has touchscreen controls and a copper GUI. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Mirror Link are all standard.
Genesis features an Intelligent Car Management Service that can personalize the driving experience using data to analyze driving patterns and tell the driver when they need maintenance. Active Noise Cancellation reduces noise, vibration, and harshness using leading audio tech to reduce unwanted noise intrusion. Adaptive control suspension reduces vibration in real-time.
A full suite of driver-assist technologies are integrated with lane following assist, rear-cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, forward-collision-avoidance assist, safe exit assist, and highway driving assist. 2020 G90 buyers get ten standard airbags, including passenger-side knee airbags. Two trims are offered with RWD standard and AWD an option. Power is either a 3.3-liter turbo V6 making 365 horsepower or a 5.0L V8 making 420 horsepower. Both use an 8-speed automatic transmission. Pricing is unannounced at this time. Complimentary service, Service Valet, and more are offered for three years and 36,000 miles.
