The Audi wagon is coming back to America! You'll forgive us some excitement at the news that Audi is finally bringing its most potent station wagon to US shores, and the 2020 RS6 Avant suggests it was absolutely worth the wait. Countering the idea that wagons are old and fussy with extreme styling and plenty of horsepower, it's an endearingly niche alternative to the SUV status-quo.

Audi is taking no chances with the new RS6 Avant's success. For a start it's unmistakably something special, the exterior styling kit turning the low, sleek styling into a fierce shark on the streets. There's the power to match, too, courtesy of a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8.

That's good for 591-horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. 0-60 mph is a matter of 3.6 seconds; standard-fit Quattro AWD means more of the power should make it to the asphalt. Sure, it's around $110,000+, but that may well be worth it.
