2016 BMW M4 GTS Gallery
The 2016 BMW M4 GTS was always going to be special, and the $134,200 performance car doesn't disappoint. Designed to be the most potent M4 in the company's history, the 3.0 liter TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder engine is good for 493 HP and 443 lb-ft of torque.
That means a top speed of 189.5 mph, BMW claims, and 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds Its proved itself, too, with a lap of the famed Nüburgring in 7:28.
Ultra-lightweight components like stripped-back doors help, but the M4 GTS also has a surprise hidden under a secret panel in the trunk. There, you'll find a water-injection system that's used to keep the combustion chamber temperature down and, as a result, allow for a higher boost and earlier spark timing.
That means more power, more torque, and – surprisingly, though perhaps not the primary concern of M4 GTS drivers – better economy, too.
