The Curious Case Of The Star Wars Family Portrait
What you're about to see is a family portrait that includes Han Solo, Princess Leia Organa, and a third family member. We will not tell you who the third member of the family is here, for that would be a spoiler for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. We know that basically every person in the world that wanted to see The Force Awakens has already seen it, but we're still not going to take any chances. Maybe 30 years down the line when The Simpsons have already done so.
The image you're about to see – and remember, this is a SPOILER – was made with photo editing software. That much should be clear, since the portrait above is the original. The image below (below the standard, 2-person portrait) adds the third blood member of this immediate family as explained in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The image above is real, captured of Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher back in the day – we're still trying to contact the portrait studio.
See how glorious this image is? It's just fantastically retro and gloriously executed. Just right.
Now the curiousness of this edited image (below) isn't the fact that it's (relatively obviously) Photoshopped, but that several sources are inadvertently claiming they made it, all at once. We won't be giving them the satisfaction, instead aiming for the oldest location this image can be found on the internet – earlier today, at around 2:10 PM Central Time.
This image was posted to @Skywalkerwink, aka Lukewarm Skywalker. From there, it seems to have spread.
How *(REDACTED) could have survived Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Do you know who made this glorious concoction?
We've gone ahead and traced the Adam Driver portrait back to its source, as well. Unfortunately to share the source, we'd also have to essentially reveal a very private place on the web, one we're fairly sure the creator would like to remain private. If you want to figure it out, you're welcome to it!
Meanwhile – we're on the lookout for additional fan art such as this. Do you have a Star Wars family portrait you'd like to share? Let us know!
