iOS 5.1.1 Jailbreak hacked already

, May 7th 2012 Discuss [0]

Apple's new iOS 5.1.1 may only have been available for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users for a few hours, but already there's a jailbreak solution for installing unofficial apps, as long as you have the right device. The iPhone Dev Team's MuscleNerd has confirmed that those with devices not based on the Apple A5 chipset - which means the iPad 2 and new iPad, as long as the iPhone 4S - can use the previously released redsn0w jailbreaking tool. Tethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1 available on non-A5 devices

, Mar 8th 2012 Discuss [0]

Well, that was certainly quick. iOS 5.1 hasn’t even been with us for 24 hours, but already there’s a tethered jailbreak. It’s not all good news though: it’s only available for devices not running Apple’s A5. That means you won’t be able to get in on the action on the iPad 2, iPhone 4S, or “the new” iPad when it ships on March 16th. Read The Full Story

iPhone 4S and iPad 2 jailbreak incoming with Corona A5 tool

, Jan 20th 2012 Discuss [40]

A jailbreak for the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 is almost ready for release, arch-iOS hackers the iPhone Dev Team have announced, with only streamlining the user-experience of the "Corona A5 jailbreak" left to complete. Until now, the Apple A5-based products have been stubbornly resistant to hacking attempts, Apple changing its approach in the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S so as to give users wanting to install unofficial software more trouble than before. That time of frustration, though, is nearly through. Read The Full Story

iOS 5 beta expires today: b7b redsn0w saves your data

, Oct 21st 2011 Discuss [2]

iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users running the iOS 5 beta may find their devices not playing ball, with the preview copy of the recently released Apple platform expiring today. Although Apple targets its iOS betas at developers looking to get their apps up to speed with upcoming software changes, the low cost of entry to developer accounts has seen many regular users jump at the chance for early access as well; those same users may be left holding less-than-useful devices today, when the beta expires. Thankfully there's an unofficial tool to allow user data to be extracted. Read The Full Story

iPhone 4/3GS get ultrasn0w SIM unlock tool for iOS 5

, Oct 14th 2011 Discuss [35]

The ultrasn0w iPhone unlock tool has been updated to support handsets running iOS 5, allowing owners of iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 to upgrade to the recently released new version of the platform but still use their phones with other SIMs. The new ultrasn0w is still effectively a tethered system for the iPhone 4, the iPhone Dev Team confirmed today, since currently the iOS 5 jailbreak (and which is necessary if you then want to unlock your phone) requires a USB connection on each reboot. iOS 4.3.4 Jailbreak released just days after Apple closes loophole

, Jul 18th 2011 Discuss [30]

The iPhone Dev Team has already jailbroken Apple's new iOS 4.3.4 release, pushed out to the iPhone, iPad and other devices on Friday last week. The updated iOS version patched a PDF vulnerability which hackers had used to jailbreak iOS 4.3.3; however, redsn0w 0.9.8b3 has been released to handle jailbreaks on 4.3.4, albeit tethered rather than untethered. iOS 5 redsn0w Jailbreak released (but it’s probably not for you)

, Jun 10th 2011 Discuss [0]

The iPhone Dev Team has released its tethered jailbreak for devices running iOS 5, as demonstrated earlier this week. The hack - which allows unofficial software to be run on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch when running the new version of iOS - uses the original limera1n bootrom exploit; still, the Dev Team reckons this particular release really isn't for everyone. , May 6th 2011 Discuss [2]

The gaggle of geeks at the Dev-Team are the folks that bring iPhone fans the jailbreaks and unlocks that they can use to set their iPhones free. Sometimes these jailbreaks required the iPhone to be tethered to computer and other times the jailbreak is able to be done untethered. Untethered redsn0w jailbreak released (& partially pulled) for iOS 4.3.2

, Apr 19th 2011 Discuss [3]

A new untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.2 has been released, but there have been a few hiccups along the way for the iPhone 4. The iPhone Dev Team updated their redsn0w tool to handle 4.3.2 on the iPhone 4 (GSM), 3GS, iPod touch 3G/4G and iPad 1, but issues with the iPhone 4 functionality has forced them to pull that specific version.
