Razer Firefly, the light-up mousepad you never knew you needed

A light-up mousepad by the name of Firefly is coming from the folks at Razer, made to be a perfect match for the rest of your "Chroma" edition peripherals. This device is a "hard gaming mouse mat", if you want to be specific about it, working with a micro-textured surface to make certain your laser mouse movement is as speedy and precise as possible. Razer also suggests that this surface has an "enhanced reflective quality" that'll deliver fabulous "rapid in-game responsiveness."

Razer Forge TV pre-orders are now real, shipping April 29

After a brief false alarm early this month, Razer has finally taken off the veils and put up its Android TV offering up for pre-order. Not much has changed, including the speculated price tag. And yes, there is a bundle that will net you both the Forge TV and the Serval controller, which don't come together. More than anything, this reassures fans that the Android TV promise ala Razer is real and coming soon. In fact, it will come on April 29 at the earliest.

Razer Forge TV pre-order reveals May 1 shipping date

Razer Forge TV pre-order reveals May 1 shipping date

Razer's little gaming console, the Razer Forge TV, went up for pre-order today...and then was pulled without explanation. We first got a look at the console back during CES 2015, and it is, in true Razer fashion, a stylish dark console with green trim and a matching controller. The Forge TV is a set-top box akin to things like the Fire TV and the Apple TV, but it has a dedicated gaming slant, including related peripherals designed for use when you're lounging on the couch or in the recliner.

Razer’s OSVR now has 50 partners for a single VR standard

Razer’s OSVR now has 50 partners for a single VR standard

This week at GDC 2015, OSVR announced that several hard-hitting names in gaming recently joined their cause - to unite the whole VR universe under one set of standards. This also marks the first clear point at which OSVR is being promoted as a system separate from Razer. Instead of this being a Razer-centric announcement from Razer, it's positioned as an OSVR-centric announcement from the OSVR group. It's an organization to rally the VR universe, after all, not just the efforts of one company.

Today OSVR - via Razer - revealed a set of updates for their open VR initiative. One piece of this equation was in the update of the software standard - optimizations and the like. Another part of the update was in revealing the new total number of supporters of OSVR - 50 partners in all. Then there the brand new OSVR Hacker Development Kit v1.1, complete with a 1080p full-HD OLED display with higher contrast and lower latency than the first edition - the version we saw at CES 2015 earlier this year.

Razer Tactical Bag Review: the gear backpack of your dreams

Razer Tactical Bag Review: the gear backpack of your dreams

My review of the Razer Tactical Bag began in January of 2015, about a month and a half ago. The bag was delivered to me right in time for CES 2015 - easily the most action-packed week for me out of the whole year - for tech, that is to say. During the week I carry a lot of weight. In past years, I've brought bags that weren't up to the task. I've had bags whose handles rip partway through the week. I've had bags that didn't end up having nearly enough space or pockets for organization of oddities. The Razer Tactical Bag was up to the task.

This version of the notebook is again what Razer suggests is the world's thinnest and lightest gaming notebook, this one coming with a 14-inch display and the newest in Intel and NVIDIA GeForce GTX processors and graphics processors. This version also works with QHD+ resolution across its face and a smooth exterior reminiscent of the Razer Blade already on the market.

Razer Nabu X sneaks out for sale to the public

Earlier this month at CES 2015 we first heard about the 2nd tier wearable device from Razer, one called the Nabu X. Here less than a month later the device is already on sale to the general public. This device went on sale to Razer Insiders before, coming in at a price that very well could be kicking the device out at a loss - $20. Now the device comes to the public at a still-reasonable $49.99 USD - very similar to its competitors in the field.

Razer Forge TV hands-on: Android TV-based gaming supercharged

This week at CES 2015, Razer brought their first Android TV product to the masses. With a dedicated wireless gaming controller that doubles as a media remote (Razer Serval) as well as a wireless gaming keyboard (Razer Turret) made for the couch-surfing gamer, there's no mistaking the fact that Razer is aiming its cannons directly toward the living room this year. With the Forge TV, Razer is preparing to put the likes of Amazon Fire TV, Google's Nexus Player, and Apple TV on notice.
