The days of losing your memory card are truly about to be over. Joining the PS3 and the Xbox 360 in the cloud game, Nintendo will apparently bring the option of storing game save files and user profiles to the Wii U. It's hopefully part of a bigger initiative from the company to make the next console truly and fully connected to the Internet, something the Wii is sorely missing. Read The Full Story

Google driverless cars prompt robo safety worries

, May 9th 2012 Discuss [0]

Google's driverless cars being let loose onto the roads of Nevada has re-awakened concerns around robot vehicle security, with experts unconvinced that the increasingly complex kit is safe from malware. Fears around the future vulnerabilities of cars left to guide themselves, though perhaps not of significant concern today in Google's small-scale trial, nonetheless persist given the likelihood of commercial implementations of self-driving hardware, with researchers pointing to a mixed track record in locking down infotainment and other systems in "dumb" cars to-date. Quitting the Internet is Silly

, May 5th 2012 Discuss [0]

Paul Miller, a writer for the Web site The Verge, has famously quit the Internet. For a year. I say famously, because every writer from The Verge that I follow is completely obsessed with this topic. While this is a site that normally operates like a Band of Brothers and Sisters on social networks, the level of buzz that Miller’s decision has garnered has been even more extreme. CNN covered this ‘event’ as news. Let me reiterate that I follow almost every writer from The Verge on Twitter, and I count quite a few of them as friends and the rest as respected colleagues. So I hope they’ll take this gentle ribbing in stride. But I must say, quitting the Internet is silly.

Galaxy S III: It’s not for you

, May 4th 2012 Discuss [0]

While I was sitting at the Samsung Galaxy S III event yesterday evening at Earl’s Court, I started to notice a trend. The official announcement and hands-on posts for the phone had already gone up ahead of the event, and the opinions began to flood in via Twitter during the course of the show. The general sentiment was one of disappointment, with prominent tech writers as well as internet commenters sending negative thoughts and opinions towards the most anticipated phone since the last iPhone. Why?

Samsung Galaxy S III vs iPhone 5: pre-release battle

, May 2nd 2012 Discuss [0]

The next-generation iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S III will be the two biggest and baddest smartphones on the market this summer. There’s no denying that. Unless you’re HTC and you’ve got the HTC One series with the HTC One X on AT&T and the HTC One S on T-Mobile, then you’ve got something to back up your claim that you’ve got anything to say to either Samsung or Apple. Thusly here is my challenge to you, Apple and Samsung – I dare you to make a more perfectly tuned smartphone than HTC has offered up here at the start of 2012. I dare you to take this game to the next level.

HTC One X Review (AT&T)

, May 1st 2012 Discuss [0]

AT&T hasn’t wasted any time getting HTC’s new flagship, the One X, onto its network, though the US version of the smartphone has seen a few changes along the way. We’ve already comprehensively reviewed the One X in European, quadcore form, running NVIDIA’s Tegra 3, but the AT&T model borrows the dualcore Qualcomm S4 from its smaller One S sibling and pairs it with LTE connectivity. Could this be the best variant of HTC’s 2012 line-up so far? Read on for the SlashGear review.
