It seems that everyone with a Samsung phone or tablet will be getting an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich soon, with some limits, except for basically the entirety of T-Mobile. Sad as it may seem, Samsung's big list of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrades today appears very much to have been relegated to everyone except for T-Mobile. T-Mobile Samsung devices that otherwise might have been upgradable at the moment include the Exhibit II 4G, Galaxy S Blaze 4G, and the Galaxy S II in white and titanium, each of these being suspiciously absent from the updates list.

GSM Galaxy Nexus gets Android 4.0.4 plus XOOM WiFi and Nexus S
Google has released the latest update of Ice Cream Sandwich for UMTS/GSM devices, pushing out Android 4.0.4 for the HSPA+ version of the Galaxy Nexus sold in Europe, among other models. The current Nexus flagship, along with its predecessor, the Nexus S, and the Motorola XOOM WiFi all get the updated version of the platform, headed out as an OTA upgrade.

Fixed Nexus S ICS update coming in “the next few weeks”
Google briefly began rolling out the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Nexus S back in December, but it was quickly pulled after user complaints of poor battery life. Some users managed to see the tasty update, and custom ROMs have been plentiful on xda-developers, but those simply looking for the stock experience have been left waiting for several months. Android Fragmentation does not matter to you

I’m switching to iPhone 4S for a week
This week I will be embarking on a journey which includes me giving up the Android smartphones I’ve been using essentially exclusively over the past several years and picking up an iPhone 4S. Apple’s own smartphone hero is the most well-known smartphone hardware/software combination on Earth, and since it is my job to bring you, the readers, a well-rounded set of coverage on the gadget and technology world, the opportunity to work with the newest version, iPhone 4S, was one I could not pass up. This whole week will be filled with accounts of what it means to not only switch to iOS, but what it means to use the one device with the biggest global following on the planet.
LG “Nexus” Google TV tipped
LG and Google are collaborating on what could become the first Nexus Google TV, sources inside the project claim, with the search company considering giving its Korean partner early access to a future version of the smart TV software. The deal would follow the pattern already set with HTC and Samsung on the Nexus range of smartphones, two insiders tell Bloomberg, with LG’s TV being positioned as the flagship Google TV device and an example for other manufacturers to follow.

Developers: an Android 2011 Retrospective
When we look back at this year, we’ll think of it as the year of the birth of the dual-core mobile super chip, the double CPU processor becoming the status quo for a smartphone or tablet running Android, this the single most important thing to those who use the devices as tiny computers while the term “4G” dominates the memories of the masses, but it’s developers that mattered most. There’s no thinking about Android this year without recognizing that it’s still running alongside Apple’s iOS, the iPhone, and the iPad 2 as its primary competitors, and as its own user interface changes drastically, its competitors instead tweak functionality inside their already set-in-stone aesthetic. Then there’s the battles between manufacturers, carriers, and Android versions too, but none of this existed outside the underground of hackers, developers, and tweakers galore!
Google Nexus tablet in next 6 months teases Schmidt
Google will begin promoting what could be the first official Nexus tablet within the next six months, according to chairman Eric Schmidt, the latest stage in the “brutal competition” between it and Apple. “In the next six months we plan to market a tablet of the highest quality” Schmidt told Italian newspaper Corriere della Sea, while also confirming that Google plans to leverage its voice recognition technology to better challenge Apple’s Siri.
No root Google Wallet port for Galaxy Nexus
If you have a new Galaxy Nexus and you aren’t happy with the fact that Google Wallet isn't offered for the smartphone, you need to check out this port. Some of the devs on XDA-Developers have been able to port the app to the Galaxy Nexus without having to root the device. The port involves installing the app as an APK.

Nexus S to get Android 4.0 starting today, GSM version first
Google has announced via Twitter that it will be rolling out Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to the Nexus S starting today. The GSM models of the device will be the first to receive the update, which will roll out in batches. The Nexus S was Google's premiere Android 2.3 Gingerbread device that launched last November.
