Samsung Android QWERTY Slider Heading To AT&T

Earlier today, AT&T announced that 2.3 Gingerbread updates will be rolling out to its entire 2011 Android lineup of smartphones. But, that lineup has been lean on Samsung handsets, which should change in coming months. The current gargantuan 4.5-inch Infuse 4G, may soon be succeeded by a new Samsung flagship device in the form of a slide-out QWERTY smartphone.

The guys over at BGR received an exclusive photo of the upcoming device. But, no additional details were revealed to them as of yet, besides what can be deduced from the image itself. The handset looks to be sporting four capacitive buttons typical of Android devices rather than the three-button layout usually requested by AT&T.

The four buttons are also available as physical keys that flank the four-row slide-out QWERTY keyboard. There aren't any Samsung or AT&T branding shown on the rendering, but BGR reports that the device made by the South Korean manufacturer should arrive on the carrier within the next few months.
