Real Bunny Smartphone Case: Behold, The Newest Tech Trend
Over in Japan there's a trend in smartphone cases where real rabbits are used to protect their iPhones. The rabbits used for these cases range in size and shape and breed, but for the most part they're just about the right size for an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus to fit neatly on their tummies. Of course once they decide to flip over, it all goes to heck. And no, it's not a particularly slow day for news, it's just an awesome day to see bunnies holding smartphones.NOTE: Before you go any further – putting your rabbit on its back like this isn't always just cute. Leaving a rabbit on its back for extended periods can lead to paralysis. Please consult with your local veterinarian before you place your rabbit on its back for phone holding. Thank you!
A rabbit is the ideal animal to use for a case, if you do wish to use an animal for a case. Unlike cats, they do not fall on their feet no matter what – just most of the time. Hook one up with a couple of standard rubber bands and you're good to go. Just make sure they don't pull too hard on their little tummies.
Watch out for binkies. That's the move a tiny rabbit will do when they're super happy, jumping up, flipping their head back and forth. That might result in a smartphone loss.
Above you'll see the very first bunny phone case that we're aware of, posted all the way back on the 14th of October by @ryooneokrock1
Weibo has caught fire with citizens of China and outlying areas posting images of their pet rabbits holding their smartphones as well. While the rabbit trend appears to be strongest, there's also a secondary image push of the feline variety. A cat case for you, my good sir.
Each image you see here is the respective property of the shooter, as marked with watermarks on each image. If you see an image that's yours that isn't marked, let us know and we'll mark it!
If you have a rabbit and a smartphone and wish to contribute to this collection, by all means, please do so. You can send photos to SlashGear directly or through twitter hashtag #bunnycase.
It's all up to you to bring on the bunny. Or the cat. Or the turtle. Whatever you happen to have lying around.
