NL Architects' Multi Mill Is A Rotating Outdoor Theater Proposed For Amsterdam

When's the last time you saw a drive-in movie theater? It's probably been ages, right? The indoor theater definitely took over, and while there's still plenty of people out there who would probably love to go visit their local drive-in again, it doesn't look like that's going to happen any time soon. But, if you're in Amsterdam, then you may be getting one step closer to getting exactly that. But, instead of some boring stationary theater, you might get one that actually rotates.

NL Architects created this design concept that looks like what an outdoor theater should. Plenty of space for a live band, and even a giant piano, with a large movie theater-like screen behind it all, making sure that if you want to catch the latest release to theaters, this would be the way to do it. It's called the Multi Mill, and it actually won a design competition. The competition was to see who could come up with the best idea for a harbor in Amsterdam, basically to transform it from its old-self, into something next-generation. A spinning theater is what won the day.

After winning the contest, designers are hard at work trying to figure out the science behind the idea. Whether or not engineers will be able to make the Multi Mill exactly as NL Architects designed is up in the air right now, but we're not exactly sure how awesome it would be to know that you're slowly spinning around while watching a movie. We're sure that the designers will be able to figure out something, even if it doesn't necessarily include a spinning theater. Something similar to this concept image would still be amazing, in of itself.
