NicoletoMK Mikrokopter Autonomous Quadracopter [Video]

What with Parrot's AR.Drone and a couple of DIY versions shortly after, January is turning into the month of quadracopters.  Parrot's model isn't on shelves quite yet, so if you can't wait (and you have no DIY skills) then head over to NicoletoMK where they have a pro-quality quadracopter, the Mikrokopter, capable of lifting 500g.Video demo after the cut

That might not sound like a lot, but it's enough to tote around a video camera or camera, or indeed a more entertaining payload such as a waterballoon.  Both direct remotely-controlled modes and an autonomous autopilot with pre-programmed flight plans are possible, and the whole thing is made from lashings of carbonfiber.

The camera mount is gyro-stabilized and supports pan and tilt for more filming flexibility.  We can't see the Mikrokopter being especially cheap – it looks like they build them to order, and carbonfiber isn't exactly an inexpensive material – but we're still sneaking one onto our Christmas list.
