Kickstarter Comes To Android
There are some sites out there that don't really need their own mobile app. After all, a mobile site can be plenty effective for most places you visit. However, Kickstarter is not one of those sites. iOS users have been able to use their own special app for the site, but Android users have been left out in the cold.
Today, the crowdfunding giant announced that they haven't been ignoring the needs of Android owners. They've been hard at work on one, and it is now available for download. They are quite proud of the design of the app, but were quick to mention that it is only a 1.0 version, and that they have many other features that they want to pack into it later.
In the app you'll find an activity feed that lets you see projects that they think will appeal to you. These come in the form of projects relating to ones that you have backed, or ones that your friends are into. You'll also be able to receive notifications when a project you've backed has posted an update.
What you can't do yet is actually manage a project directly from the app. That functionality is coming in the future, but for now most of the features are aimed at the people supporting projects, as opposed to the ones running them. If you want to get your hands on it, you can download the app for free right here.
