iPhone X Gets Some Tempting Discounts In T-Mobile BOGO Deals [Update]

T-Mobile has decided to start the year off with a buy one, get one promotion on a lot of high-end smartphones. This includes a bunch of different Android phones and most recent iPhones, which is surprising because iPhones aren't the focus of promotions too terribly often. Things get even more tempting when you realize that one of these offers applies to the iPhone X as well.

Yes, even though the iPhone X is only a few months old, we're seeing T-Mobile offer a fairly significant discount when you buy two at a time. This BOGO offer is multi-tiered and ultimately dependent on what you want. The buy one, get one free deal applies to a wide range of handsets: iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, iPhone 8 (64GB), Galaxy S8, LG G6, V20, V30, and V30+. If you're in the market for a Galaxy S8 or any of LG's recent flagships, then, that seems like a pretty solid deal.

Instead of doing a buy one, get one free on high capacity iPhones and the iPhone X, T-Mobile is instead offering $700 off when you buy two at once. This applies to the iPhone 7 Plus (128GB and 256GB), iPhone 8 (256GB), iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X. While it isn't quite as good as buy one, get one free, saving $700 on a second iPhone X isn't anything to stick your nose up at.

Finally, T-Mobile is offering buy one, get $750 off on Samsung's top-of-the-line and newest handsets: the Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S8 Active, and Galaxy S8 Plus. That isn't bad at all, but if we assume that the rumors surrounding the Galaxy S9's early reveal are true, you might want to hold off on applying that to the Galaxy S8 and its variants. Then again, the Galaxy S8 is certainly a capable device, so it isn't as if it's somehow a bad buy even with a Galaxy S9 reveal looming.

Keep in mind that these offers only apply to devices bought in pairs, though if you're looking to pick up just one device, T-Mobile is also offering $150 rebates on any new Samsung or LG phone. Finally, T-Mobile has added the Galaxy S8, S8 Plus, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, and iPhone X to its Verizon switcher promotion, so if you have one of those devices on a Verizon account and decide to switch, T-Mobile will pay off the remainder of what you owe on the phone (up to $650). These promotions begin on Friday, January 12, with no word yet on when they'll end.

Update: T-Mobile has clarified that the Samsung and LG devices eligible for $150 back include the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy S8 Active, Galaxy Note8, G6, V30 and V30+.
