Hulu Plus Officially Launches At $7.99 Per Month; Hits Roku Today

The Hulu Plus subscription service has officially launched, and as rumored Hulu has cut pricing from the $9.99 of the preview program. Now priced at $7.99 per month, the streaming media service is also making its debut on Roku set-top boxes (as promised back in October), while PS3 owners can also download the Hulu Plus application as long as they have a PlayStation Network account.

Hulu is promising to update its Samsung, PlayStation 3, and Apple iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch Hulu Plus apps over the next week, with "a variety of bug fixes and feature and performance enhancements." It's worth noting that Hulu Plus doesn't save you entirely from adverts, however; the company only says that its content will have "minimal ad-load."

If you already subscribed through the Hulu Plus Preview, the company will be slipping you the difference in subscription fees in your next billing cycle. Meanwhile, all new Hulu Plus users will get a one-week free trial.
