HTC One M9 Release Date Leaked Along With New Pricing
Just after HTC announced the One M9, a contest gave us a bit of info about what the device might cost. At the time, we cautioned that the listed price might simply be placeholder pricing, there to make the contest official. We may have been right, too. A listing for the One M9 has been discovered via an electronics retailers' website, and gives a price tag of $649 for the HTC One M9. That's a solid $50 more than what we heard last time.
A $50 price difference (hopefully) won't break the bank. The $649 pricing is average for flagship devices. If you were curious, the listing shows a 32GB variant which is SIM-free and unlocked.
As for when you can actually get it, B&H says March 25 is their go-live date.
Again, this is a listing on a website that may not be accurate. Like the contest rules we sourced last time, there's a good chance this one is less than accurate. You can't actually pre-order it yet, either, suggesting even B&H is less than confident in the listing. We should also note this was the same release date as the HTC One M8, so it might just be a 'best guess' scenario for B&H.
For us, the actual availability is more interesting than a $50 pricing head-scratcher. If the HTC One M9 really does come available on March 25, that will probably put it in stores ahead of the Galaxy S6, which typically launches in South Korea before heading to other parts of the world.
Verizon is opening up pre-orders for the Galaxy S6 on April 1. Though unconfirmed, it's believed Samsung flagship will actually be ready for purchase in the middle of April.
