HP EliteBook 800 Series Ultrabooks Have Up To 33 Hours Of Battery Life

HP has unveiled a number of new business notebook computers and Ultrabooks that are specifically designed for business users and target IT department budgets. One of the most appealing of the new machines is the HP EliteBook 800 series promising ultrabooks that are up to 40% thinner and 28% lighter than previous generations.

The 800 series ultrabooks meet MIL-STD 810G meaning they are rugged and reliable. The machines use a magnesium unibody chassis with aluminum accents and can be fitted with an optional backlit keyboard. The EliteBook 820 G1 has a 12-inch display and weighs less than 3 pounds. HP has also unveiled the EliteBook 840 G1 with a 14-inch display offering optional touch technology and battery life of up to 33 hours with an optional secondary Slice Battery.

The final ultrabook in the 800 series is the EliteBook 850 G1 with a 15.6-inch display and this machine has the latest generation Intel architecture and offers HP's Client Security portfolio. HP has also rolled out a new ProBook 600 series of notebooks featuring USB 3.0 ports, DisplayPort 1.2, and optional 4G LTE connectivity.

The range includes the ProBook 640 G1 with a 14-inch screen and fourth-generation Core i7, i5, or i3 processors. The 650 G1 features a 15.6-inch HD resolution display and DTS Sound+. The 645 G1 notebook uses an AMD 35W quad-core or dual-core CPU and features a 14-inch screen. The 655 G1 promises to be 19% thinner than the previous generation and features a 15.6-inch screen and AMD Radeon HD 8000G graphics.

HP also has the new ProBook 400 series featuring the 440 G1, 450 G1, and 470 G1 notebooks. These machines can be fitted with fourth-generation Core processors, optional touch interfaces, optional 4G, and more. The EliteBook 800 series notebooks are available now in the US starting at $799. The ProBook 640, 645, and 650 will be available on November 18 with the 655 available on November 25 and pricing for the series starts at under $699. The ProBook 400 series is available in the US now starting at $499.
