Garmin Nuvi 295W Features WiFi [Video]
Today is just full of surprises. We just got a tip that showcases a new Garmin navigational unit. The nuvi 295W is brand new, and it's managed to fly under our radar for quite some time, apparently. But sure enough, it exists, and it's actually coming to the market a lot sooner than we would have ever imagined.
The Garmin nuvi 295W features exactly what you might expect from something showing off a giant W in its name. The WiFi element is something a bit surprising, and the looks of the GPS unit itself makes us think a lot about that Garmin nuvifone heading to T-Mobile. Apparently the 295W drops a lot of the familiar nuvi interface, which gives it a software look and feel to the nuvifone as well. The hardware features a 3.5-inch touchscreen, email access, Google Local search, and text-to-speech.
Additionally, the nuvi 295W features things like an MP3 player, the ability to switch between landscape and portrait mode on the fly, and it even has a 3MP camera on the back. It's also got a headphone jack, which we assume means a 3.5mm version. Basically, it fits in your pocket, gives you some of the functionality of a phone (or smartphone, even), without the hassle of a contract or the monthly addition of a data plan. It's going to cost $279.99 when it hits shelves in a matter of days. Check out the video below.
